18 days and counting. When will Rudy stop ignoring Hoosiers?
ABC57’s reporting confirms what Hoosiers in our district already know: Rudy Yakym isn’t interested in responding to questions about the issues directly affecting a majority of his constituents’ lives.
For 18 consecutive business days, ABC57 has asked Representative Yakym to comment on the war in Iran, gas prices, and inflation. They have received no response—not even a “no comment.” His failure to respond reeks of shameful dereliction of his duty to the people who elected him. Remember–he works for you!
This conflict has significantly hurt Hoosier families. Indiana gas prices jumped over a dollar per gallon in early May, reaching $4.83. Current prices are over $1.30 per gallon higher than a year ago and still rising. Worse, national inflation surged to 3.8% in April.
Hoosiers are paying more at the pump and at home because of a war launched without Congressional approval. Rudy strongly endorsed this war of choice, putting service members in harm’s way without a clear strategy or exit plan, and leaving thirteen Americans dead and 400 injured.
And Rudy Yakym? He refuses to answer questions from the people he claims to represent.
The people of Indiana’s 2nd District deserve a representative who shows up, answers questions, and explains their votes. Silence is abdication, not leadership.
I am regularly available to the community, ABC57, and other media outlets because answering questions is part of the job. Transparency isn’t optional in representative government.
His careless disrespect for Hoosiers is exactly why I chose to run for Congress. When I’m elected, families in the 2nd District won’t have to wonder where I stand or wait weeks for a response. I will show up at town halls, listen, and fight for you because you deserve to be respected, not ignored.
