Because this wage has failed to keep up with the true cost of living, one-third of Hoosiers live at or near the poverty line, which drains the local customer spending power our small businesses depend on.

The Childcare Barrier

The cost and availability of childcare, especially in our rural communities, acts as a direct roadblock to full employment, keeping willing parents out of the workforce.

An Inflation-Adjusted Minimum Wage

Propose a federal minimum wage tied directly to the local cost of living and automatically adjusted annually for inflation. This ensures hard work pays the bills and pumps local dollars back into our neighborhood economies.

Address workforce shortages by creating federal grants and targeted tax credits to expand free or subsidized childcare options, particularly in rural communities.

Roll back the reckless, inflationary tariffs and trade wars that disrupt supply chains, drive up grocery prices, jeopardize family farms, and stymie American business growth.

Our energy infrastructure remains dangerously vulnerable to foreign adversaries and sudden spikes in industry demand. Because the federal government has failed to diversify our grid, which would help to insulate it from foreign adversaries, local utility prices remain entirely at the mercy of global crises like the one we are facing in Iran.

Build a Resilient, All-of-the-Above Grid

Strengthen national security by aggressively investing in advanced power grid technology and domestic renewable energy. Insulating our infrastructure removes a weapon from the arsenals of our foreign adversaries and ensures Indiana’s fuel and utility prices remain stable during international spikes.
